Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Mammo Technologist for our Imaging department. This per diem role supports screening and diagnostic mammography, ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

You will operate within RIS/PACS, follow ALARA principles, and assist radiologists as needed. The ideal candidate will hold a two-year Radiologic Technology degree, NYS license (or obtain within six months), and ARRT-R certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Two year college degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology or must obtain licensure within six months of employment.
• ARRT-R Certification within six months of employment.
• New Graduates: Official transcript or verification from registrar is required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Maintains documentation of exams and related procedures in RIS/PACS and patient charts.
• Performs screening, diagnostic, and mammographic procedures.
• Monitors image quality to ensure alignment with ACR standards.
• Monitors equipment for proper performance and functionality.
• Performs Mammography QA activities under supervision.
• Follows department protocols and radiologist directives for exams.
• Ensures a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Completes handoffs when other team members participate in patient care.
• Assists or cross-trains imaging team members as directed.
• Pre-work review of studies to ensure readiness prior to patient arrival.
• Cleans, restocks and prepares rooms daily.
• Attends meetings and in-services.
