Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform specialized breast examinations using mammographic equipment. You will ensure imaging quality, proper positioning, and adherence to protocols while delivering patient-centered care.

The role requires completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent, ARRT credentials, and BLS. Prior mammography experience is preferred but not required, with opportunities for growth within Piedmont's Georgia network.

Qualifications

• Experience not required, but 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintain records, reports and files per regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions and notes pertinent information.
• Positioning and protocol selection for imaging exams.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed.
• Label images correctly and ensure accuracy of each exam.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintain all required records, reports, and files per federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

Licenses and Certifications

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
• (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography (M) - ARRT Upon Hire Required and
• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
