Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist for breast imaging at the Patewood Outpt Center in South Carolina. The role involves performing screening mammograms, diagnostic imaging and assisting with stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.

Requirements include SCRQSA certification for SC, BLS, ARRT-Radiology and ARRT-Mammography registration. Expect day shifts with a collaborative team in a hospital outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Education: Certification program in Radiologic Technology.
• Experience: No experience required; prior radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation during screening and diagnostic studies.
• Assist radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies.
• Assess patients by reviewing prior studies and history to determine screening vs diagnostic status.
• Maintain radiation protection standards to minimize exposure without compromising image quality.
• Stay current with new procedures by attending educational seminars and reading relevant material.
• Monitor updates by checking email on each shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of breast imaging procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and competency.

Essential Functions

• Obtains optimum quality breast images for radiologist interpretation while performing screening mammograms and diagnostic breast imaging studies.

• Assists radiologist during stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies.

• Assess patients through review of previous studies and history to determine screening versus diagnostic patients.

• Covers other functions in the department as deemed necessary.

• Provides radiation protection in accordance with proper standards as set by State and Federal boards, uses proper shielding, collimation and technical factors that minimize radiation exposure without affecting quality of images.

• Remains abreast of changes and new procedures by attending educational seminars or classes and reading job related material.

• Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
