Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Mammography Technologist to perform a range of mammographic examinations, ensuring high-quality images and patient comfort. The role emphasizes proper positioning, protocol selection, and adherence to safety guidelines in a busy radiology department.

The ideal candidate will hold ARRT Certification in Radiography and Mammography, with BLS on hire. Minimum education includes AMA/JRCERT accredited radiologic tech training.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required; 1 year experience preferred for Mammography is common.
• ARRT Radiography certification required upon hire.
• ARRT Mammography certification required upon hire.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence in positioning patients and equipment, selecting protocols, and using required imaging equipment.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and obtains additional images as needed.
• Ensures accurate labeling and compliance with established procedures.
• Maintains all required records and files as required by regulatory agencies.
• Provides customer service and support to the patient population.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
