Job summary

CLOVEHITCH is seeking qualified interpreters fluent in Mam to support a client serving minor populations. Interpreters will facilitate accurate communication between minors and Care Staff, providing impartial, confidential, and culturally appropriate interpretation in a variety of care and service settings.

Services will be provided primarily in person at client sites across the United States, with additional support via telephone or videoconference as needed; travel may be required depending on

Qualifications

• Must have working proficiency (ILR 2+) in English and Mam.
• May be required to obtain a T2, Public Trust clearance.
• Prior experience in foster care or medical care situations is preferred.
• This position requires a valid driver's license.
• This position is open only to individuals authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• This position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA) and compensation will follow the applicable wage determination.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation at client service sites.
• Relay deadlines, instructions, questions to minors in their language.
• Assist minors in communicating concerns to staff when not fluent in English or staff language.
• Provide translation/interpretation to orient minors to community resources.
• Assist staff with building rapport and understanding cultural context.
• Support special projects and initiatives.
