Job summary

American Dream is seeking a Patrol Officer (Full-Time) to patrol the property and ensure guests, tenants and employees have a positive experience by delivering security and guest-service excellence. This role enforces rules, addresses emergencies, conducts area patrols, and generates detailed incident reports in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a rigorous 120-hour in-house training program.
• Carry CEW (conducted electrical weapon) with required exposure approval process.
• Successful completion of an 8-12 week field training program.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
• Ability to work variable and rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Meet physical demands including walking, running, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must possess NJ Security Officer Registration Act Certification.
• Eligible to be licensed as a Security Officer in NJ.
• Maintain an adequate level of physical fitness for emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Enforce AD rules and policies, as well as state and local statutes.
• Deter criminal or destructive behavior by maintaining a highly visible patrol presence.
• Regular patrols of mall common areas, service corridors and parking areas.
• Provide directions and assist in locating lost persons or vehicles.
• Respond to life-threatening emergencies or incident calls and manage related safety procedures.
• Write detailed incident, accident or personal injury reports as required.
• May be assigned to vehicle or foot patrol, special events, crowd control, VIP protection, or restricted area posts.
• Coordinate radio traffic with Dispatchers and Supervisors.
• Request Police, Fire or EMS services as necessary.
• Conduct safety and fire inspections and manage parking violations when assigned.
• Support tenant relations and loss prevention communications with Mall Management and tenants.
• Monitor safety practices among mall staff and tenants and report hazards.
• May work mandatory overtime or short-notice events as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and fulfill additional duties as assigned.
