Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer Flex at a Bethesda, MD shopping mall. The role features a flexible schedule, including morning, evening and overnight shifts, with driving required and on-foot or vehicle patrols.

The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring for hazards, controlling access, and reporting incidents.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
• Background investigation required by law; certain criminal histories permitted per policy.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• No prior experience required
• Be at least 18 years of age (21 if armed)
• Reliability and adaptability to different post assignments
• Operate radio or console equipment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to assess situations quickly and calmly

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual conditions and safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or contact police/fire department as needed.
• Control entrances and exits and verify authorized access.
• Prepare and maintain incident reports and logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as required by site orders.
