Job summary

Allied Universal® is hiring a Part-Time Flex Security Officer for a shopping mall in Bethesda, MD. The role involves patrolling on foot or by vehicle, observing for safety hazards, and responding to emergencies while providing courteous service to customers, employees, and visitors.

The position offers a flexible schedule with morning, evening, and overnight shifts and requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work outside in various weather

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years verifiable experience.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as required.
• Be at least 18 years old (21 if armed).
• Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Attention to detail and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Monitor for unusual conditions or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or summon police/fire when needed.
• Warn violators and control entrances/exits.
• Observe departures to protect property and ensure proper removal.
• Investigate incidents and maintain written logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors politely.
• Make emergency notifications per site orders.
