Job summary

Aventura Mall Venture is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the facilities team in Aventura, FL. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to building systems, equipment, and common areas to help ensure safe and efficient mall operations.

You will work with licensed contractors, keep accurate work records, and follow safety requirements. Strong hands-on maintenance experience and a customer-service mindset are essential for success in this busy retail

Qualifications

At least three years of direct experience in commercial building operations and maintenance.
Familiar with OSHA and EPA safety requirements relevant to assigned work.

Responsibilities

Perform general building maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, doors, fixtures).
Assist licensed contractors and vendors; coordinate access and status with facilities team.
Complete preventive maintenance and inspections of building systems; document findings and follow-up needs.
Maintain accurate work orders with labor, materials, and notes in the maintenance system.
Prepare maintenance reports and communicate outstanding repairs and supply needs to supervisor.
Coordinate maintenance activities with facilities, operations, and tenants to minimize disruption.
Operate tools and equipment with proper PPE and safety procedures.
Respond to maintenance requests professionally and escalate unsafe conditions as needed.
