Job summary

Malibu Boats is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to join the Product Development Engineering team. The role will perform mechanical engineering duties to support New Product Engineering and product development, driving continuous improvement of Malibu and Axis boats.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineers, develop and maintain drawings and specs using NX, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD, and lead cross‑department initiatives to deliver on time and on budget.

Qualifications

  • BSME or related degree from ABET-accredited university required.
  • Minimum 1 yrs experience in mechanical engineering or project management required.
  • Entry level experience in SolidWorks, NX, or other parametric 3D CAD required.

Summary

Malibu is the world's leading towboat manufacturer and now looking for an experienced Product Engineer to join their Product Development Engineering team. This position will perform mechanical engineering duties to support both New Product Engineering and Product Development in the continuous improvement of the Malibu product.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Work with a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Industrial engineers on the development and improvement of interior and exterior mechanical products; including, but not limited to interior hardware, exterior hardware, steering assembly, custom linkages and other mechanical components.
  • Lead cost savings initiatives in cross-departmental projects for continuous improvement of Malibu and Axis boats.
  • Develop and maintain technical mechanical drawings and specifications for new and existing mechanical designs.
  • Use engineering and computer design software, specifically, NX, Solidworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Manage new product design and continuous improvement of Malibu and Axis boats' mechanical designs.
  • Confer with management, production, sales, and supply chain to determine engineering feasibility, cost, customer demand, and increasing customer value through new products and product improvements.
  • Provide cross-departmental support and effective communication of all areas of responsibility with a specific focus on daily manufacturing support and continuous quality improvements.
  • Regularly identify opportunities for product improvements and re-engineer designs to enhance the form, fit, and function of current and new designs.
  • Regularly investigate system/product weaknesses to continuously improve and prevent further issues.
  • Regularly specify system components necessary to ensure proper functionality of a product.
  • Works daily to manage and coordinate multiple projects, keeping them on time and on budget.
  • Works daily with outside vendors/suppliers to provide feedback for product design, areas of improvement, and testing results.

Education And/or Experience
  • BSME, or related degree from ABET accredited University required
  • Minimum 1 yrs experience in mechanical engineering or project management required
  • Entry level experience in SolidWorks, NX, or other parametric 3D CAD required
Experience In Manufacturing Environment Preferred
  • Familiarity with production of components requiring injection molding, casting, CNC milling operation preferred
  • Familiarity with production of components requiring tool handling and material preparation preferred
Language Skills

English required. Effective communication skills will be necessary to perform tasks.

Mathematical Skills

Will use mathematics to solve problems, up to the algebraic level.
