Job summary

Malibu Boats, LLC seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support New Product Engineering and Product Development, focusing on hull, deck, stringer, and interior components.

You will use NX and SolidWorks for surface modeling and drawings, perform weight studies and CFD runs, coordinating with Industrial Design, manufacturing, and suppliers, to keep designs on schedule and within cost targets. Strong CAD skills and 5+ years in design are required.

Qualifications

• BSME, or related degree from ABET accredited University required
• Minimum 5 yrs experience in mechanical engineering and product development required
• Minimum 5 yrs experience in SolidWorks, NX, or other parametric 3D CAD required
• Experience in Surface modeling, NX, and AutoCAD preferred
• Experience in manufacturing environment required
• Familiarity with production of components requiring injection molding, casting, CNC milling operation required

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering on multiple new product designs and improvements to hull, deck, stringer, interior components, and other mechanical systems
• Perform weight studies and CFD runs for new model designs
• Develop technical drawings and specs for mechanical designs
• Coordinate with design, production, and supply chain to assess feasibility and costs
• Manage multiple projects and vendors to keep on time and on budget
• Provide cross-departmental support and communicate engineering findings to teams
