Job summary

Standard Nursing Agency is urgently seeking an experienced Male Support/Care worker for the Brent area to provide personal care and assistance to service users aged up to 18+ with learning disabilities, physical needs, ASD, global development delays and challenging behaviour. Many service users use Makaton to communicate their needs.

Main duties include practical tasks, PEG feeding, stoma care, moving and handling, medication management and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• You must be eligible to work in the UK.
• Qualifications NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
• Require minimum 6 months experience in Health and Social Care.
• Good communication skills with a caring and professional service.

Responsibilities

• To undertake practical tasks as required, including personal care.
• Assist in identifying individual needs and provide appropriate support.
• Help service users maintain health care and personal hygiene standards.
• Undertake tasks as required, adapting to changing needs of the service.

Job description

Standard Nursing Agency is urgently seeking experienced Male Support/Care worker for Brent area, to provide personal care and assistance to Service Users that consist of children and young adults up to 18+ years of age diagnosed with a learning disability, physical needs, challenging behaviour, ASD, global development delays and severe sensory seeking. Many service users use Makaton to communicate their needs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience with PEG feeding
• Stoma care
• Safe use of hoists and other moving & handling equipment
• Medication management
• Epilepsy management
• Catheter care
• Ability to provide personal care with dignity and respect
• Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
• Nursing background is desirable (but not essential)
• Require minimum 1 year experience in Health and Social Care.
• Report writing
