Job summary

Priory is seeking a Support Worker for Westbury Lodge in Wiltshire. This permanent, full-time role supports eight adults with varying needs in a residential setting.

You will assist with personal care, daily living tasks, and participate in care planning under qualified staff guidance, ensuring dignity and wellbeing. You will join a compassionate team that focuses on personalised therapies and a recovery-oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent, plus GCSE/NVQ2 in English and Maths.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal needs and daily living activities are supported as required; help residents meet their outcomes.
  • Complete daily administration including updating care plans, charts and notes.
  • Maintain professional relationships with residents, families, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures to support safety, confidentiality and well-being.

Westbury Lodge has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team.
Westbury Lodge, Westbury, Wiltshire is a residential service supporting 8 adults with a range of needs. It is located in a town setting and is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Westbury railway station nearby. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents

  • Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks. To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
  • Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
  • Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role
  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higher recognised qualification. GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths. N.B. It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will have NVQ2 qualification but will commence the attainment process within six months of joining and will have a specific time period in which to qualify.
  • The problems faced by many service users may present challenging situations, which may increase the physical, sensory and emotional demands of the role.
  • Communication and personal interaction is a key feature of this role and may include the provision of support to people who use challenging behaviour as a way to communicate their needs and frustrations or who use alternative communication methods such as pictures and signing systems. This role also requires participation in and promotion of a team approach at all times, with positive and constructive working relationships for the benefit of the service user. To contribute both verbally and in writing to service user reviews and support planning.
