About This Role

We are looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Male Assistant Teacher to join our childcare team. This is a great opportunity for a man who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive difference in their daily lives. Our Male Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to provide children with a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment. We value the positive impact that a caring male teacher can have on children and are looking for someone who will serve as a positive role model, encourager, and trusted member of our teaching team. This role is much more than simply helping in the classroom. We are serious about teaching and expect our Assistant Teachers to actively participate in children's learning. You will help lead activities, engage children through play and conversation, encourage good behavior and social skills, and support their growth and development throughout the day. We are looking for a man who is patient, responsible, energetic, respectful, teachable, and genuinely enjoys working with children. Previous childcare experience is helpful, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to learn about early childhood education. The right candidate should be comfortable getting involved- playing with children, getting down on their level, participating in activities, helping them learn, and being an active part of the classroom.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous childcare or experience working with children is preferred, but not required.
• Must pass all required background checks and childcare screenings.Must meet all applicable South Carolina childcare licensing requirements.
• Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and professional.
• Must have a genuine interest in working with young children.
• Must be patient, kind, respectful, and able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Must be comfortable actively participating in classroom activities, including play, learning activities, outdoor activities, and hands-on experiences.
• Must be able to follow directions and work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other staff.
• Must be willing to assist with daily childcare responsibilities, including meals, nap time, cleaning, and classroom transitions as appropriate.
• Must be able to maintain a safe, clean, and positive classroom environment.
• Must be willing to learn and follow the daycare's policies, procedures, curriculum, and safety practices.
• Must demonstrate good judgment and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and interacting with children at their level.
