Job summary

Baylor University is seeking a Graduate Student Employee Biweekly Evening/Weekend Lead for the Makerspace & Studios in Moody Memorial Library. You will supervise the evening and weekend operations, assist undergraduate student workers, manage equipment checkout after hours, and ensure a welcoming, safe environment for creative making and media projects.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and a passion for audiovisual technology.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to take initiative and prioritize tasks in a dynamic setting.
• Experience in leading or supervising student workers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the audiovisual equipment checkout program.
• Oversee evening checkout operations by pulling equipment for reservations and generating checkout documentation.
• Inspect returned equipment and report missing or damaged items.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the media studios to keep spaces functional for patrons.
• Achieve foundational proficiency in major tools/resources in the Makerspace.
• Review and grade Canvas Pathways skills modules to authorize patron access.
• Supervise undergraduate student workers, including end-of-shift documentation and accountability.
• Act as primary point of contact for student workers; exercise sound judgment and escalate when needed.
• Supervise closing procedures for the Makerspace & Studios.
