Library Makerspace Mentors serve at the OU Libraries' Makerspace which is located in room 234 of the second floor of Kresge Library. Mentors will combine a high level of customer service skills with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist library patrons (OU students, OU faculty, and staff) in using a variety of computer software, software services and hardware devices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist library patrons (student, faculty, staff) with a variety of computer software applications such as Slicers, Blender, Cricut Design Space, Adobe Creative Cloud and others.
- Guide patrons in the use of tools, machines, and materials.
- Assist patrons with workshops and other Makerspace events.
- Adhere to library and Makerspace policies and procedures.
- Explain policies and procedures to patrons.
- Assist in maintaining the appearance of the Makerspace.
- Report problems to the coordinator.
- Must be customer oriented, pleasant, courteous and approachable.
