Job summary

Cleveland State University is seeking a dynamic leader to manage the Dan T. Moore Makerspace Laboratory.

The role supports students, faculty, and staff by providing instructional, technical, and administrative support, and by enhancing curricular projects and lab operations. Responsibilities include developing and managing the annual budget, coordinating partnerships with community organizations, and aligning the lab with CSU’s teaching needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Four (4) years of work experience in an industrial or educational setting with emphasis on engineering or technological laboratory teaching or management.
• Supervisory and training experience.
• Master’s degree in engineering, engineering education, business, or related field.
• Knowledge of traditional and advanced manufacturing technologies including 3D printing, VR/AR, laser engraving, and wood/metal fabrication.
• Ability to manage operating budgets and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Dan T. Moore Makerspace Laboratory.
• Develop and manage annual budget for the lab.
• Guide and integrate lab resources for CSU colleges.
• Coordinate partnerships with community organizations.
• Collaborate with peers at other universities to share best practices.
• Incorporate undergraduate introductory engineering courses into the lab’s use.
• Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
