Job summary

Daytona State College is seeking a part-time Makerspace Assistant to support students, faculty, staff, and visitors in the campus Makerspace. You will help with equipment setup, basic troubleshooting, and ensuring a safe, organized workspace. The role requires enrollment in at least 6 credits, maintaining SAP or a minimum 2.0 GPA, and availability on weekdays within 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet SAP or 2.0 GPA.
• Must maintain SAP or 2.0 GPA to remain eligible for student employment.
• Experience with Makerspace tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and support to students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Log supply usage, needs, and equipment issues
• Monitor lab activity to ensure safe and appropriate use of equipment
• Assist users with equipment setup and basic troubleshooting
• Assist users with basic machine operations and troubleshooting
• Maintain clean, organized workspace, tools, and materials
• Answer questions about equipment, materials, and Makerspace services
• Perform other duties related to the job as assigned
