At CAF Management, Make Ready Technicians play a key role in preparing apartments for new residents. You’ll ensure each unit meets our quality standards by completing repairs, cleaning touch‑ups, and detailed inspections—helping create a strong first impression that reflects the care we put into our communities.
This is a great opportunity for someone who’s handy, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in the property management industry. Many of our maintenance leaders started in this role.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing basic repairs, painting, and cleaning tasks
- Inspect units for quality and ensure all systems and appliances are working properly
- Replace light fixtures, hardware, screens, locks, blinds, and other standard items
- Report major repair needs to the Lead Maintenance Technician or Property Manager
- Support the maintenance team with curb appeal projects and minor work orders
- Ensure make‑ready timelines are met to support leasing goals
- Maintain a clean and organized make‑ready area and supply inventory
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Required Qualifications
- Experience with basic apartment or home repairs (painting, drywall, hardware, etc.)
- Ability to manage time and complete tasks independently
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Availability to work Saturdays (closed Sundays) and maintain a flexible weekday schedule
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in apartment maintenance, turns, or construction
- Bilingual abilities
- Willingness to grow into a full maintenance technician role

- Bend/stoop/squat/kneel (e.g., painting, flooring, repairs)
- Climb stairs and ladders (e.g., accessing units, ceilings, attics)
- Push/pull, stand, and walk (e.g., transporting materials, tools, and appliances)
- Reach above shoulders (e.g., installing fixtures, accessing cabinets)
- Grasp/grip/turn and use finger dexterity (e.g., hand tools, hardware, locks)
- Lifting/Carrying:
- Over 50 lbs: Occasional need (10% to 25%)
- 10–25 lbs: Frequent need (25% to 75%)
- Under 10 lbs: Frequent need (75% to 100%)
