Job summary

Newbury Residential, Inc. in Plainfield, IN, is seeking a full-time Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant apartments for new residents.

You will repair fixtures, cabinets, appliances, and perform inspections to identify maintenance issues, ensuring units are ready for move-in. The role requires 2–3 years of property maintenance experience, knowledge of HVAC/plumbing/electrical, and the ability to work with residents and vendors.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and/or renovation, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in property maintenance.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, contractors, and team members.
• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between properties or offsite as needed.
• Must supply and maintain basic hand and power tools required for the position.
• Proficiency in smartphone applications.
• High school diploma or GED required; additional technical, vocational, or trade school training is preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check per relevant laws.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartment units for new residents, including repair/replacement of fixtures, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, etc.
• Conduct thorough inspections of units to identify and address maintenance issues (plumbing leaks, electrical problems, flooring repairs, etc).
• Assist with routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative work orders.
• Maintain clear communication with residents, employees, and vendors.

On-Call Availability

• Must be available to respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls
