Job summary

CLK Multifamily Management is seeking a Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents. You will clean, inspect, and repair units to ensure move-in readiness, coordinating with the maintenance team to meet deadlines and optimize turnover times.

No full set of skills required—willingness to learn and basic tool knowledge are welcomed, with potential growth into Maintenance Technician roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Willingness to learn and basic knowledge of tools acceptable.
• Ability to log and update work orders using a mobile app.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant units for move-in (make-ready) and complete each turn within set timeframes.
• Follow the make-ready and punch checklist for every unit.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize units and meet schedules.
• Clean units thoroughly including appliances, bathrooms, and floors.
• Inspect and ensure HVAC, water heaters, and fixtures are in working order.
• Repair defects like leaks, broken fixtures, and lighting.
• Replace light bulbs, HVAC filters, and smoke detector batteries.
• Log status updates and supply needs in the work order system.
• Support groundskeeping and participate in safety meetings.

Get every apartment ready for its next resident. As a Make Ready Technician, you'll clean, inspect and repair vacant units so they're move-in ready and in excellent condition. Your work makes a great first impression and helps keep residents happy. What You'll Do

• Prepare vacant units for move-in (make-ready and unit turns), finishing each turn within set timeframes to minimize vacancy loss
• Follow and complete the make-ready and punch checklist for every unit
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize and complete make-ready units on schedule
• Clean units top to bottom, including appliances, cabinets, bathrooms, floors and windows
• Remove and properly dispose of trash and debris from make-ready units
• Inspect appliances, fixtures and systems, including HVAC and water heaters, to make sure everything is in working order
• Check carpet, vinyl, baseboards, trim, doors and windows, and repair or replace them as needed
• Make repairs found during inspections, including leaks, toilets, light switches, garbage disposals, ceiling fans, broken fixtures, drywall patching, caulking and touch-up painting
• Replace light bulbs, blinds, HVAC filters and smoke detector batteries
• Keep property management updated on make-ready unit status, and let them know what supplies or equipment are needed
• Help with grounds upkeep, landscaping and pool areas as needed
• Close out or update each work order in the online facilities work order app as soon as the work is completed or changes
• Support the maintenance team with general repairs as needed
• Attend monthly safety meetings

What You Bring

• 1+ year of make-ready, cleaning, painting or maintenance experience preferred, but not required
• Attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Able to work independently and meet turn deadlines
• Able to use a smartphone and the online facilities work order app to log and update work orders (required)
• Bilingual a plus; may be required at certain locations, and you'll be asked if it's needed for the position

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, crouch, bend, climb ladders and lift throughout the day
• Lift 10 pounds or more regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation; items over 50 pounds are lifted with assistance
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Pre-employment drug test and background screening

Schedule
