Job summary

Monterey County Office of Education seeks a Paraeducator to assist teachers in special education and mainstream classrooms. The role supports instructional activities for students with diverse needs, under the Principal’s direction.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of higher education or an Associate’s degree, plus relevant experience with students with disabilities. There are multiple pay incentives and a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Education as required by ESSA 2015: High school diploma or equivalent AND two years of higher education (48 semester units) OR an Associate’s or higher degree.
• Prior job-related experiences with school-age children or students with disabilities.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License with evidence of insurability.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities for students in special education moderate/severe programs and in mainstream classrooms.
• Support the overall instructional activities under the Principal’s direction.
• Provide assistance to students in reading, writing and mathematics as appropriate.

Education
