Position Overview:

The Major Gifts Officer plays a pivotal role in front-line fundraising, primarily focusing on individual donors capable of contributing between $10,000 and $1 million. This position is responsible for building and managing a robust donor portfolio while cultivating meaningful relationships with medical and nursing staff to identify prospective donors.

Reporting to the Foundation President, the Major Gifts Officer will develop strategic cultivation and solicitation plans to secure commitments of $10,000 or more within 18 months of identification. Additionally, they will establish and implement a dynamic stewardship program designed to foster ongoing engagement and increased philanthropic contributions. Annual fundraising targets for this role range from $350,000 to $1.5 million. The Major Gifts Officer will work strategically to coordinate donor outreach and engagement efforts in collaboration with the Foundation President, senior staff, volunteer leadership, hospital executives, and key medical and nursing personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a representative of the Foundation, cultivating strong relationships with individuals and families to drive philanthropic support for hospital initiatives.
• Work collaboratively and with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring exceptional service for donors, prospects, medical and nursing staff, and hospital leadership.
• Develop trusted partnerships with clinical staff to identify fundraising opportunities and enhance donor engagement.
• Ensure the timely and seamless acceptance, processing, acknowledgment, and recognition of contributions.
• Maintain accurate donor information in the Raiser's Edge database in strict compliance with hospital HIPAA policies.
• Exemplify the hospital’s values—Integrity, Care, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork—in all interactions.
• Create tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to enhance donor relationships and philanthropic potential.
• Provide strategic coordination of prospect and donor contacts, optimizing engagement efforts with senior leadership.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the President in support of the hospital’s philanthropic goals.
