Job summary

The Carlson School of Management development team at the University of Minnesota Foundation seeks a Development Officer to drive philanthropic growth and major gifts. You will partner with colleagues to translate academic priorities into fundable initiatives and manage a blended portfolio.

This role reports to the Associate Vice President, Philanthropy for CSOM and offers a 100% time appointment with a competitive pay range and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 4+ years of fundraising or related experience.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with solution-driven approach.
• Strong accountability and mentorship skills.
• Growth mindset with ability to adapt to changing goals.

Responsibilities

• Engage in face-to-face donor work to advance gift conversations.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a major gift portfolio.
• Translate academic priorities into fundable initiatives for donors.
• Collaborate across units on donor strategies and reporting.
• Lead fundraising projects and support operational fundraising initiatives.
• Document donor interactions and ensure accurate relationship tracking.
