Job summary

Penn State University in University Park invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Director of Development to engage alumni and friends in supporting The Smeal College of Business. The role partners with DDAR to advance major gifts and fundraising initiatives regionally.

Reporting to the Senior Director, the successful candidate will identify prospects, craft proposals, plan solicitations, and travel regionally and nationwide to build relationships and meet fundraising metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 1+ years of relevant fundraising experience.
• Proven track record in securing major gifts.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to cultivate relationships with high-net-worth audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate a prospect pool of alumni and other key constituencies.
• Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through proposals and communications.
• Plan and execute solicitation strategies leading to major gifts; travel regionally and nationally to build relationships and meet fundraising metrics.
