Pine Hall, the Detroit outpost of Union Square Hospitality Group, seeks a Maitre D’ to oversee reservations flow, greet guests, and coordinate with service and kitchen teams. You’ll help seat and fill the room, ensuring a warm, efficient dining experience throughout service.
We value a guest-centric mindset, English fluency, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure while guiding the team to deliver Enlightened Hospitality.
Located on the original Hudson’s site, Pine Hall pays homage to Detroit’s past—and the storied Pine Room—through vintage keepsakes and ice-cold cocktails featuring Michigan spirits. As the first Detroit outpost of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, founded in New York City in 1985, Pine Hall brings four decades of hospitality to the city, drawing on the spirit of beloved restaurants like Gramercy Tavern and Shake Shack.
We're proud to serve up classic cocktails made with spirits from close to home, cold beer, and tavern fare that feels familiar, but perhaps a bit better than you remembered.
The Maitre D’ role is a vital member of the Service team, overseeing the flow of bookings to the restaurant, initial hospitality when arriving and booking reservations, and a warm goodbye. The Maitre D’ has a firm grasp on what is happening in all parts of the restaurant at all times during service to seat and fill the restaurant in such a way that maximizes the restaurant and supports the dining room and kitchen teams so that they can fulfil their roles with excellence.
