The Navy Inn in Lemoore, CA, operated by Navy Exchange Service Command, seeks a personable Maintenance Worker to perform basic plumbing repairs and general upkeep to support a high-volume lodging location for military patrons and their families.

Qualifications

• One year of maintenance experience in buildings, grounds, fixtures, or equipment.
• High school education may substitute for experience on a 3:1 basis.
• Three years of maintenance work in painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Make basic plumbing repairs.
• Support maintenance operations at The Navy Inn in Lemoore.
• Work as part of a team to maintain facilities and equipment.
• Adhere to safety procedures and use PPE when required.

Plumbing: Make basic plumbing repairs

• labor as unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds (100 pounds assisted) is required.
• Must be able toclimb/descend stairs and ladders, stoop, bend, kneel and work in uncomfortable positions.
• The work involves normal risks or discomforts associated with operations, facility management, and/or mechanical systems.
• Work is performed bothindoors and outdoors with potential exposure to extreme weather or temperature conditions.
• Occasional exposure to dusty or dirty conditions existswhen visiting rooms or facilities undergoing repair, maintenance, or renovation. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
• May be required possess a valid state driver license, as travel to other facilities may be required within the normal scope of duties.
• Applicants will benotified when this is a requirement for appointment.
• This position is subject to the possibility of workdays on weekends and holidays, as well as, rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal dutyhours.
• May be recalled to duty and/or required to work overtime, including on an emergency basis.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings grounds fixtures equipment etc.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Three years of maintenance work in involving painting plumbing carpentry and electrical repairs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing stooping bending kneeling climbing and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds
