Navy Lodge in Silverdale, WA is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support our service members and their families. The role involves routine maintenance tasks and responsive repairs to keep facilities safe and functional.

Part-time schedule (20–34.5 hours) with benefits beginning Day One. Must have or be able to obtain base access; the position emphasizes teamwork and a customer-first attitude within a military community.

Qualifications

• General experience in upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures and equipment.
• One year of specialized maintenance work including painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
• Physical requirements include standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Typical assignments include painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
• Logs trouble calls with contractors as appropriate.
• Greet guests at arrival and assist with luggage, directions, base services and local information.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as fans, air conditioners, water coolers, grills, broilers, heat lamps and other appliances.

So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

• Typical assignments include simple painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.

• May be required to greet guests at time of arrival and offer assistance with luggage directions base services and local area information.

• SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
• SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of general maintenance work in involving simple maintenance work such as painting plumbing carpentry and electrical repairs.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: standing stooping bending kneeling climbing and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
