  • Ensure bus evacuation drills are performed monthly and documented in writing.
  • Notify supervisor of hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, and other safety concerns.
  • Drive assigned buses or large vehicles to transport children/youth on field trips or to school.

Summary

This position is located at Fort Sill Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation NAF Support Division (CYS Facilities).

Eligibility

This job is open to the public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.

United States Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties
  • Performs minor grounds maintenance to include ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear of ice/snow, and surfaces under playground structures are maintained according to safety requirements
  • Performs a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and minor repairs of buildings, playground equipment, toys and associated equipment. Requires the use of trade practices associated with carpentry and painting.
  • Ensures children and youth know how to safely evacuate the bus. Practices bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis. Documents all drills in writing.
  • Employee is responsible to notify the supervisor of obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, and other situations that may impact work operations.
  • Drives assigned buses or other authorized vehicles that weigh more than 26,000 lbs. or carry more than 15 passengers regardless of weight, to transport children/youth on field trips or to and from school.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to included childcare checks.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and maintain a current driver’s to operate assigned government vehicles
  • Appointment is subject to favorable suitability determination.
  • Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors under different types of weather conditions.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • This position has critical safety or security responsibilities and as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP). Subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs.
  • This position requires a valid state driver's license and is subject to mandatory drug testing.

PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
