Naval Station Great Lakes MWR is seeking a maintenance worker to perform semi-journeyman level pier and equipment tasks in the Marina Branch. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, handling boats, welding, and minor repairs to docks and facilities.

This position is located in the Marina Branch, Support Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois.
Under limited supervision from the Branch Manager, perform a variety of building pier, and equipment maintenance tasks of a level of difficulty at the semi-journeyman level. May provide advice or assistance to other maintenance workers and laborers working in assigned duties. Performs tasks in the following categories:

A qualified candidate must possess:
Must have an extensive background in mechanics with experience in operating heavy equipment, including but not limited to, a forklift license with a minimum rating of 6,000 pounds, or proven experience to get one. In addition, knowledge and experience handling boats, power tools, and related equipment. Must have a working knowledge of boat repair, seamanship, and weather.
This position does not have a positive education requirement.
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.
