Job summary

Senior Resource Group in Goleta, CA is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to repair resident issues, manage unit turnovers, and perform preventative maintenance across the property. You will handle emergencies, respond after hours, and maintain safety standards while communicating clearly with residents and staff.

A valid driver's license and EPA HVAC certification are preferred; 2+ years of similar experience required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
• EPA certification for HVAC refrigerants is often required; a valid drivers license is needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills when helping residents and staff.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Daily Work Orders: Fix resident repair requests, including plumbing leaks, broken appliances, and electrical issues.
• Unit Turnovers (Make-Ready): Prepare vacant apartments for new renters by painting, cleaning, and making repairs.
• Preventative Maintenance: Inspect building systems, HVAC filters, lighting, and common areas to prevent major breakdowns.
• Emergency Response: Handle urgent after-hours issues like gas leaks, major water breaks, or electrical failures.
• Grounds and Safety: Maintain property appearance, clear walkways, and follow safety and building codes.
