SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker communicates with the production staff to support the needs of each department. While maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule, the Maintenance Worker must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks, addressing any unforeseen issues that disrupt production or are requested by non-production staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform routine and periodic inspections of equipment using the preventive maintenance program to ensure proper functioning. Conduct activities such as mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance, including lubrication, inspection, and replacement of parts.
2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, update, repair malfunctioning equipment, or install new plant equipment.
3. Use hand tools, electrical tools, bench tools, and machine tools in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
4. Maintain records of plant function readings, equipment history, inventoried parts used for repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
5. Ensure compliance with safe work practices and procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE, respirator use, and injury, illness, and prevention protocols.
6. Operate manual forklifts and automatic scissor lifts proficiently.
7. Welding experience is a plus.

Additional qualities include being a good team player, punctual, reliable, and possessing good communication skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

SKILLS:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (e.g., email, text, MS Office). Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
