• 1 shift/month 2:00pm-10:00pm

Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker III performs sub-journeyman maintenance and repair tasks, including building repairs, painting, door repair, tile repair, minor electrical work, vendor coordination, and kitchen equipment repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen and carpenters in major repair, maintenance, or construction projects such as sheetrock, plumbing, painting, appliance installation/removal, carpentry, tile, flooring, and door hardware.
• Operate power tools and landscape equipment.
• Report to work during campus emergencies or closures as essential personnel.
• Maintain grounds and trash removal.
• Handle routine work orders and emergency repairs.
• Drive a UTA vehicle.
• Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or repair work.
• Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in sub-journeyman maintenance and repair.
• Thorough knowledge of equipment used in trade areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in all work phases.
• Ability to operate furniture moving equipment and drive flatbed vehicles with lift gates.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in teams.

Other Requirements

• Uniforms and PPE provided.
• May work in extreme temperatures and around chemicals, biohazards, and electrical hazards.
• Push/pull force of 212 lbs., lift up to 80 lbs., climb ladders/scaffolding.
