Job summary

The City of Locust Public Works Department seeks an energetic, team-oriented individual to fill a maintenance worker full-time position. Qualifications

• A valid NC Driver's License.
• At least 6 months experience in mechanical/construction/street repair/athletic field maintenance or related field.
• Utility construction/maintenance experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work across facilities, parks, fleets, transportation, solid waste, and utility departments.
• Follow standard safety procedures and regulations.
• Work may include night/weekend on-call duties in emergencies.
• Maintain or repair equipment and grounds as assigned.

Work in this department can be quite demanding at times, due to weather and schedule. Nighttime and weekend work can be required in emergency circumstances. On call duties are required. Follow standard safety procedures and regulations.
