Maintenance Worker II - Public Works Department

This is an exceptional career opportunity to secure a full-time position as a Maintenance Worker II within the Public Works Department of the Village of Lake Zurich.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks related to construction, repair and maintenance of Village buildings, streets, storm drainage systems, sanitary sewer and water systems, and water treatment facilities.
2. Landscape and tree maintenance.
3. Snow removal, street sweeping, and support for community special events.
4. Operate a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
5. Respond to evening and weekend emergency call-outs and perform scheduled weekend work as assigned on an overtime basis.

Position Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Preferred candidate would have working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair.
3. Skilled in operating related tools.
4. Ability to perform heavy manual tasks and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
5. Willingness to work in a team environment and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
6. Must possess a State of Illinois Class “A” (CDL) driver’s license with airbrake, and tanker endorsement within six months of hired date.
7. Must successfully complete a background check and post-offer employment physical examination including drug screening.
