The City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities seeks a Maintenance Worker I for the Water Production Division to support repair and maintenance of the water production system.
Essential duties include trenching, moving materials, minor repairs, and following written and spoken instructions. Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work flexible morning shifts at the Waterworks Road facility in Norfolk, VA.
The City of Norfolk's Department of Utilities is currently seeking a Maintenance Worker I for the Water Production Division. The Maintenance Worker I will be responsible for assisting with the repair and maintenance of the Water Productionsystem.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
No experience required.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. OR Monday - Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Work Location: 6040 Waterworks Road, Norfolk, Virginia 23502
This position is designated as Essential which means you may be required to work rotating, extended, after hours, weekend and/or holiday shifts in response to emergency situations and severe weather.
