Chesterfield County Environmental Engineering seeks a maintenance worker to support stormwater facilities. Responsibilities include ditch cleaning, vegetation control, and operating equipment such as hydroseeders and chainsaws. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; open until filled with first review on October 5, 2026.
High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of drainage maintenance operations and equipment usage/operation to include hydroseeder, brush chipper, chain saw, tamper, weed trimmer, and hand tools. Ability to swim preferred.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Maintenance of county stormwater facilities including ditch cleaning, downed tree removal, grass and brush cutting in county maintained drainage easements. Perform other work as required.
