Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking an on-site maintenance technician at Marana Detention Center in Marana, AZ. The role focuses on electronics repairs, general maintenance, and supporting trades such as plumbing and carpentry to meet directives.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, strong knowledge of electronics, and at least three years in repair and maintenance. A certified electrician is desirable; US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• General knowledge of basic electronic theory and electrical practice.
• Three years in repair, maintenance and electronic circuitry.
• Certified electrician highly desirable.
• US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair structures and electrical, heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning systems.
• Repair or replace faulty light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
• Repair or replace plumbing fixtures and fittings.
• Repair or adjust electronic equipment like radios, security systems and generators.
• Assist lower-level technicians with installation/repair of complex electronics.
• Prepare surfaces for finishing (painting) as directed.
• Direct detainees assigned to facility maintenance and supervise safety.

What You Will Do

• Perform maintenance and repair of structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, ventilating, air conditioning and drainage systems. Recommend contracted assistance when on-site repair is not possible.
• Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets and fuses as directed.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings, security locks, etc.
• Perform repair or replacement of plumbing fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
• Makes repairs and adjustments to equipment, such as radio communication, security systems, generators, measuring devices, and similar electronic equipment and accessories; as required, operates such equipment.
• Assist lower-level technicians with installation and repair of the more complicated electronic equipment.
• Help prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e., painting, as directed.
• Direct detainees assigned to facility maintenance as appropriate.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipment.
• Providing cleaning, transportation, and moving equipment as needed.
• Incumbents are required to work overtime when directed to do so.
• Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.
• On call responsibilities in emergency situations or equipment breakdowns.
• Requires long periods of standing and walking.
• Requires pushing and pulling of tool cart full of tools.
• Requires long periods of standing, walking, and climbing stairs while conducting any duties assigned.
• Maintain accountability of detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.

What You Will Need
