Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) seeks an experienced security supervisor for the Marana Detention Center in Marana, AZ. You will oversee security functions, supervise lieutenants and the gang intelligence officer, and ensure compliance with MTC and customer directives.

This is a full-time position with the expected on-site presence. You will plan and coordinate security, provide staff training, monitor budgets, develop policies, supervise detainee and staff security, and maintain

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Five years of experience in an adult correctional or detention facility or related field.
• US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident status.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must complete required preservice training after hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct the security functions for the facility.
• Provide staff training, evaluate performance and implement changes.
• Assist in facility budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
• Develop and implement new policies and security programs.
• Direct training and security of detainees and staff; monitor assignments.
• Supervise staff assignments for security functions.
• Perform regular rounds requiring long walking/standing.
• Ensure regular onsite attendance and duty officer duties as assigned.
• Review reports for hearings and detainee records; monitor rehabilitative prospects.
• Assist in staff selection and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Model appropriate behaviors and provide feedback on social skills.
• Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; perform other duties as assigned.

Use your skills to oversee the overall management of security functions in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives. You will directly supervise the lieutenants and gang intelligence officer.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate and direct the security functions for the facility.
• Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and implement organizational and personnel changes as approved by the deputy warden and coordinated with the manager, corporate human resources prior to implementation.
• Assist the assistant facility administrator in the preparation of facility budget, monitor and control expenditures.
• Develop and implement new and revised policies, procedures and programs affecting security.
• Direct procedures and practices relating to the training and security of detainees and staff; maintain constant vigilance of staff assignments to ensure adherence to policies, rules and /regulations.
• Supervise staff assignments for security functions.
• Required to make regular rounds of the facility that requires long periods of walking and standing.
• Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.
• Perform functions of the duty officer as assigned. 10. Review report preparation for hearings and permanent records of detainees and monitor their rehabilitative prospects.
• Assist in staff selection process, ensuring compliance with applicable local and federal regulations and MTC directives.
• Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.
• Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices. It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
