Job summary

RiseBoro Community Partnership seeks a dependable janitor/cleaner to maintain facilities at Youth Center & ACLA High School locations in New York. You will handle restroom sanitation, floor care, kitchen area cleaning, classroom and office spaces, trash removal, and basic equipment operation.

Responsibilities also include early-morning snow removal, on-call emergencies, and ensuring a tidy, safe environment for students and staff. The role requires physical stamina and prior cleaning experience.

• Other Duties: Uses and maintains assigned power equipment and hand tools; be on call in case of emergencies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for completing the following tasks as described by each particular building location/assignment (Youth Center & ACLA High School):

• Restrooms: Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, etc. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Floors: Sweeps, mops, vacuums, floors using brooms, mops and vacuum cleaners. Other floor work may be required such as: scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors.
• Kitchen Area: Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, etc.
• Classrooms and office space: Dusts furniture, equipment, partitions, etc.
• Trash: Empties wastebaskets and recyclables and transports to disposal area.
• Snow Removal: Report to work during early morning hours to assist with snow removal.
• Other Duties:
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture, using vacuum cleaner. Washes walls and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, partitions, walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments. etc.
  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
  • Be on call in case of emergencies.

Competencies

• Must be physically able to operate heavy machinery, lift heavy objects as well as stand for long periods of time.
• Must have previous relevant experience.

Education Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
