Job summary

The City of Florence is seeking a Maintenance Worker for Beautification & Facilities to perform general grounds maintenance and operate equipment. A valid SC driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are required. The role includes evening and weekend shifts as needed and salary is $16.12/hour for 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance: mowing, weeding, mulching, weed eating, pruning, raking, and cleaning.
• Clean streets and curbsides to clear debris; collect refuse and trash at City facilities and properties.
• Operate mowers, tractors, utility trucks and other power tools; perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment.
• Work in all weather conditions including extreme heat/cold, rain, noise, wind and pollen.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

The Maintenance Worker performs general grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, weeding, mulching, weed eating, pruning, raking, and cleaning. Must be able to clean streets and curbsides to clear away accumulated debris as well as collect refuse and trash at City facilities and properties. Must be able to operate mowers, tractors, utility trucks, and other power tools and perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions such as extreme heat and cold, rain, noise, wind, and pollen. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
