Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining campus buildings, equipment, and grounds by addressing work orders and special requests for repairs and preventative maintenance.

Position Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prioritize safety for oneself and others in all operations.
  • Respond promptly to work orders with a focus on customer service.
  • Operate power and hand tools safely.
  • Use ladders safely, from 6-foot stepladders to 30-foot extension ladders, within safe working limits.
  • Utilize campus equipment within safe working parameters.
  • Maintain records of building and grounds maintenance and repairs using maintenance software.
  • Work independently and collaboratively; assist others as needed.
  • Interact positively with internal customers and external vendors.
  • Engage in ongoing learning through online and hands-on training.
  • Show up reliably and work independently without constant supervision.

  • Must have a mature Christian faith and adhere to the Employee Handbook's expectations.

  • Adhere to FERPA guidelines and maintain student confidentiality.

  • Possess knowledge of office management, research, record-keeping, and operation of office machines and software.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Excellent listening skills and clarity in speech and writing.

  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and uphold high ethical standards of honesty and confidentiality.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Note: Position may change; flexibility is expected.
Experience & Qualification Requirements
  • Experience in building maintenance preferred, including drywall, plaster, painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Organizational skills for managing inventory, work, and equipment records.
  • Ability to see jobs through to completion, including cleaning the worksite.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills: Word, Outlook, Excel; willingness to learn new programs.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for cost-effective and efficient issue resolution.
  • Basic supervisory skills with patience and a positive attitude.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain one; suitable driving record.
  • Preference for ability to drive manual transmission vehicles and tow trailers.
  • May require certification to operate aerial work platforms.
