Lake Behavioral Hospital in Waukegan, IL is hiring a Maintenance Worker to perform painting, plumbing, electrical, and preventive maintenance on hospital facilities. The role includes tests and inspections of physical plant equipment and routine janitorial duties under minimal supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent (tech school preferred), experience with hand/power tools, and a valid driver’s license.

  • Experience in building maintenance and basic mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Paint, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, and tests/inspections of hospital equipment.
  • Clean and change air filters, kitchen grease traps, and stove hood filters.
  • Dispose of infectious/contaminated waste from the hospital.
  • Maintain hospital grounds, light fixtures, and replace bulbs as needed.
  • Perform preventive electrical tests and install/repair mechanical/electrical equipment.
  • Follow infection control, OSHA, safety and risk management policies.

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A MAINTENANCE WORKERMonday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm with weekends as needed (flexible schedule)Your Work Matters How will you make a difference?The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision.Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred; two years of technical or trade school preferred.Experience: Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions.
