Job summary

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed inpatient psychiatric facility and a joint venture involving Universal Health Services. Maintenance Techs maintain a safe, functional environment for patients and staff.

The role includes overseeing HVAC and BAS operations, performing general building repairs, grounds maintenance, and on-call coverage to ensure patient care and facility safety.

Qualifications

• Experience with building maintenance tasks and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks and building systems is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC systems and Building Automation System operations.
• Perform routine building maintenance, painting, and repairs.
• Manage grounds, snow removal, and landscaping contractors as needed.
• Carry out carpentry and plumbing maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare facility for events and functions.
• Respond to alarms and security codes per policy.
• Provide weekly on-call coverage as designated by the director.

Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.

Maintenance Techs maintain a safe, functional, physical environment for patients, employees, and guests.

Maintenance Techs are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

• Oversee HVAC systems and operation using the Building Automation System. Assisting and managing HVAC contractors performing repairs and preventive maintenance.


• General repair, painting, and maintenance of building.


• Maintain grounds which includes the coordination of managing lawn care and snow removal contractors.


• Carry out routine carpentry and plumbing maintenance and repairs.


• Prepare facility for special functions, including setting up tables, chairs and equipment.


• Respond in a timely manner to alarms and codes in accordance with safety and security policies and procedures.


• Provide rotational weekly on-call coverage as designated by department director for the maintenance and environmental of care of the hospital.

Qualifications

What Does LBHH Require for this Role?

• Education: High School Diploma/GED, trade school and/or industry certifications.


• Experience: 5 years construction and/or Maintenance experience.


• Should be highly proficient in computer use.
