Job Description
Position Summary:
- Maintenance and repair of hospital facilities, including patient areas, common areas, offices, and exterior. Perform regular preventative maintenance and testing on equipment and vehicles to ensure safety for employees and patients. Abide by industry standards including OSHA, TJC, and Children’s Mercy Camber policies and procedures.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- One to three years of related experience and/or training. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Certification/Licensure:
- At least 21 years old
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Auto Insurance
Skills:
- Ability to read and understand building plans and manuals. Basic math skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook email.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace plumbing (pipes, fixtures, etc.)
- Repair minor electrical items
- Assemble furniture, shelving, and other items
- Hang artwork, shelving, whiteboards, etc.
- Paint and repair walls and ceilings
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Assist with emergency drills
- Maintain documentation required for OSHA, TJC, fire marshal, etc.
- Basic groundskeeping, including snow and ice removal, minor pothole repairs
- On call for emergency repairs
- Model professional and courteous behavior for children and adolescents in Camber’s care.
- Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of background, race, ethnicity, gender identity, veteran status, or veteran status.
- Other duties may be assigned according to staff qualifications and program development.
