Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Centennial Job Corps Center in Nampa, ID, and seeks a dedicated maintenance professional for general upkeep of equipment and buildings.

You will engage in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and HVAC tasks in line with government and center directives, with a focus on safety and quality. This full-time role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in maintenance repair required.
• 3 years related experience required. Must demonstrate craft skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings.
• Assist with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems in compliance with directives.
• Repair or replace faulty lighting, outlets, thermostats, breakers, and fuses.
• Maintain flooring and convert/cleaning tasks as needed.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades and security locks.
• Supervise assigned students in maintenance department.

What you will be doing

You’ll be responsible for accomplishing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, electrical outlets, thermostats, breakers and/or fuses.
• Repair washers and dryers as necessary, recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible.
• Maintain and preserve all flooring and/or converting by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing and seeping.
• Perform maintenance and repair to structures and systems throughout the center.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
• Supervise assigned students assigned to the maintenance department.
