Job summary

Management & Training Corporation seeks a dedicated maintenance technician at the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Makawao. You will perform general repairs on equipment and buildings, supporting electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC tasks under government and management directives.

The role requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent with technical training, plus 2 years of related experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• HSD or equivalent; technical training in maintenance repair required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Accomplishing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings.
• Assisting with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
• Repair or replace faulty light fixtures, outlets, thermostats, breakers; maintain flooring.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork; install shades and locks.
• Supervise assigned students in the maintenance department.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for accomplishing general maintenance and repairs on equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions

• Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, electrical outlets, thermostats, breakers and/or fuses.
• Repair washers and dryers as necessary, recommend contracted assistance when on-center repair is not possible.
• Maintain and preserve all flooring and/or converting by scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing and seeping.
• Perform maintenance and repair to structures and systems throughout the center.
• Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
• Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
• Supervise assigned students assigned to the maintenance department.

Education And Experience Requirements

• HSD or equivalent; technical training in maintenance repair required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
