Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is seeking a Security Guard for the Centennial Job Corps Center in Nampa, ID. You will perform guard and patrol duties to protect life and property in compliance with government and management directives, with a full-time evening schedule (Wednesday–Sunday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM).

Essential duties include securing buildings and vehicles, maintaining logs and incident reports, coordinating parking/traffic, assisting in transporting students, and supporting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; security training program preferred.
• One year of security experience is preferred, especially with youth.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Guard and patrol duties to protect life and property.
• Secure doors, windows, lights, and emergency equipment; maintain logs and incident reports.
• Coordinate parking and traffic; assist in transporting students and report fires.
• Assist senior security officer and manager to support student retention programs.
• Schedule coverage to assure accountability of students, staff and visitors.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for performing guard and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, fire, flood or similar disaster in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Duties

• Ensure the physical security of buildings, center vehicles, and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment.
• Maintaining logs, incident reports, and conducting investigations.
• Perform parking and traffic control.
• Assist in transporting students, and reporting and suppressing fires.
• Assist senior security officer and manager in coordinating and instituting programs that foster student retention.
• Assure accountability of students, staff, and visitor check-out and check-in proceedings by scheduling coverage.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year security or completion of a security training program preferred.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
