Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Mount Pleasant, MI seeks a maintenance worker to perform basic maintenance, repair and preventative tasks on hospital equipment and grounds under supervision.

You will assist skilled trades, follow safety procedures, complete work orders and seasonal outdoor tasks. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; forklift certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Driving record must be within the approved insurance company’s regulations.
• Powered Industrial Truck Operator certification within 12 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Services, adjusts, and repairs basic mechanical equipment (tables, dressers, wheelchairs, etc.).
• Ensures all work areas are well lit and replace bulbs as needed.
• Performs basic preventative maintenance according to schedule check lists.
• Assists skilled trades and maintenance mechanics in more complex assignments.
• Maintains tools in proper repair and use proper safety techniques while completing assignments.
• Assists in seasonal outside work, such as snow shoveling, spreading of sand or salt, snow plowing parking lots and driveways and similar tasks.
• Completes work orders, records material utilized on jobs and other required documentation.
• May also perform general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
• Performs other related duties as required and directed.
