Job summary

The Maintenance Worker at Citadel will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, snow removal, and cleaning around the premises. The role requires following maintenance schedules and coordinating with nursing services for routine tasks in resident areas.

Experience in general carpentry, repair work, and the use of hand and power tools is essential, along with strong organizational and time

Responsibilities

• Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Use large floor cleaning devices to buff or mop.
• Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
• Plans repair work using building's blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures, basic electrical and plumbing.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks on building systems.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the facility.
• Snow removal, salting, and general cleaning of the surrounding area
• Conduct audits and log books
• Keep clean and organized the maintenance shop
• Inventory and provide a list of supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This job operates in a health care setting
• This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center
• Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment
• May experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients
